Import residents

Upload a residents JSON file to bulk-add, update, or replace the roster. The file must match the shape produced by Export.

JSON file

Must match the export shape. Generate a sample by clicking Export on the residents page.

Merge strategy

Upsert by id

Match each entry by its id: update if present, otherwise create. Best for the export → edit → re-import round-trip.

Append only

Always create new residents. Existing residents are untouched. May produce duplicates if you re-import the same file.

Replace all

Permanently delete every existing resident along with their blackouts, rotations, and assignments, then import fresh from the file.
